Every week, we've been working on rhythm. We start the class by filling blank measures with circle magnets. Each magnet then becomes a note. In music, different notes have different values assigned to them. Most classes now know that a quarter note gets one beat, a half note gets two beats, a whole note gets four beats and eighth notes get half a beat each. We've also learned the corresponding rests. We've also begun to learn pitch names in the treble clef. Here's an awesome video that the kids love. I dare you to just watch it once.
