1st and 2nd grade honed their rhythmic skills on a variety of percussion instruments as we took a trip down beat street. We discussed the differences between steady beats and unsteady beats, then followed the steady beat to a song where they were able to play to their hearts content!
3rd grade received a crash course in recorder. We learned B, A, and G; where they're found on the recorder and where to find them on the staff. If your child has a recorder at home, have them practice these three notes. "Merrily We Roll Along" and "Mary Had a Little Lamb" are fun easy songs you can play on BAG. Our goal is to learn high D and low D by the end of September so we can play "Taps" for our musical Monday at flag. You can find notes, fingerings, and easy songs to play on my recorder page.
4th and 5th are in the midst of one of my favorite lessons. The Harry Potter Puppet Pals lesson is a favorite of mine.
